Speaking after the announcement of the Harvey West result at the count in the Leas Cliff Hall at 3.00am this morning, Rory Love said:
“I’d like to thank all residents of Harvey West ward who turned out to support George Bunting and me in the local elections. This is now the 25th year in which the people of Harvey West ward have entrusted me with the immense privilege of representing them on Shepway District Council.
“Whether you voted for me or for an alternative candidate, I shall do my utmost to be your voice at Shepway, and to listen to you, speak up for you, and serve you. Once again, thank you for expressing your confidence in me to continue to do just that.”

Planning
Former St Mary’s College, Ravenlea Rd
See the link below for the latest planning application for the former St Mary’s College site in Ravenlea Rd. This application, submitted on 17th March 2011, consists of 22 houses in Ravenlea Rd and 6 (as in the original plan) in Broadfield Rd. All of the houses now have their own off-street parking. The impact on parking in the road was always a contentious point with the original planning application for 73 flats. There are now no blocks of flats proposed for Ravenlea Rd.
Cllrs Rory Love and George Bunting both think this latest plan is much more promising, as it has addressed most of the substantive issues they have raised on behalf of residents. If you have a view on the latest plan, Rory and George would wish to hear from you. email Rory with your views.
